George Bush continues to spin Iraq. George Bush declared another victory in Iraq. George Bush appears to be giving Iraq and the world another dose of Bushit. Here in the United States in Southgate, Michigan where over 100,000 Iraqi voters registered to vote. George Bush didn’t comment on why less than 9,700, of the over 100,000 who registered for the Iraqi election in Southgate, didn’t even bother to show up and cast their ballots. So George Bush understands what that means, less then 10% of those who registered to vote in one of the safest places in the world, actually voted. George Bush wants you to believe that less than 10% of those who registered to vote, in a lot safer place than Iraq, showed up over a three day voting period. While in a one day period in Iraq, which is one of the most dangerous places in the world, 72% of the registered voters showed up to cast their ballots. Someone needs to tell George Bush this sound’s like more Bushit. In addition George W. Bush did not explain why at 5:00 AM est. the cable networks were reporting a voter turn out of between 10-20% with less than four hours before the polls closed in Iraq.
A United States soldier’s trip home from Iraq: $2,659.48. Cost to transport their body from the airport to a funeral home: $132.75. Funeral and burial expenses for one family member killed in Iraq: $3,659.93. George W. Bush telling the truth about anything, "It’s not going to happen." For everything else, there are the mid-term elections in 2006.
At the time of these report there were no lines at the polling stations, and voter turn out was reported as very light. There were also five reported suicide bombings that had killed at least 16 people. After George Bush was told of the low turn out for the election in Iraq. The number then jumped to an estimated 76% of those who turned out to vote in Iraq less than four hours later. As of 6:00 PM est. the Iraqi voter turn out then dropped to an estimated 62% in Iraq, after George Bush made his statement and the number being reported were questioned. Are George Bush’s representations true, or is this just more of the same old Bushit? Current Number of Americans Killed or Wounded In Iraq. Number of Dead is 1,431. Number of Wounded is 10,502.
As I watched the cable coverage of the election in Iraq, throughout the night and into the morning, I didn’t see any images of long lines being broadcast. What I did see was a lot of footage of empty polling locations, and the same footage of people in the same polling location being played over and over during the same report. As if they didn’t have any other video to cover the commentary so they kept looping the tape. I guess to hear George Bush tell it, the Iraqis managed to have 50% of the voters in Iraq cast their votes during the last four hours of the election. Seems like more Bushit and spin to me.
As you might expect George Bush claimed Sunday's elections in Iraq were a success. George Bush also promised that the United States will continue trying to prepare Iraqis to secure their own country. Translated that means George W. Bush plans keeping United States Troops in Iraq until at least his term as president is over. Translated that means you better be prepared for another 6,000 Americans being killed. If there is nothing else you take away from what George Bush has to say. Take away the fact that there is lots of money to be made by the wealthy 2% in this country as long as we remain in Iraq. With that said, George Bush and the wealthy 2% don’t care how many Americans die in Iraq for two reasons. One, no one they know, or that is related to them is dying in Iraq. Two, as long as George Bush keeps our Troops in Iraq the top 2% of wealthy Americans are making money hand over foot one way or the other. This war has always been based on politics, money, and Bushit.
